Sewing DIY - Grey Pullover to Jacket (Wardrobe refashion)

Image
It is an easy pullover alteration. I worn this fleece sweatshirt a few times  and the fabric of this shirt condition was good. A little bit of changes to this shirt would give me some interests   keep wearing next a couple of years more. For how to make, tutorial, please click the Video below, hope you enjoy. If the Video was helpful, please thumbs up  and subscribe my Youtube channel:  Mikinoos DIY Thank you. Step by Step I cut a zipper with some fabric attached about 2-3cm away from zipper. I re-used the zipper from one of my top which I did not wear for a long time.  The zipper with fabic cut is uneven, in this instance, because I wanted to save zipper from the top before bin it, so I cut rughly on fabric around zipper. When i save the zipper I did not think of this would be used like this. And a few days later, when I decided to alter my pullover to jacket, I thought this zipper with fabrci would be good use for that alteration, and rather than using zi...

Sewing DIY Winter Knit Jacket for Cat and Pattern

Image
Winter here in Australia, I made a knit jacket for my cat. My cat (left), and my friend's cat (right), I think the jacket suits a bit better with my friend's cat.   My old knit cardigan I no longer wear used for making cat knit jacket. The jacket before Jacket collar. Anyone needs the pattern can download from the description of my Youtube Video. N.B: If you decide not to have collar, please make neck part of pattern thicker. And if a bit baggy, adjust pattern is good way, or you can move buttons on jacket a bit. Please sew 0.5cm from edge after cutting to prevent Kint come untied. DIY Cat Harness & Leash Set and Pattern

Image
I have made an harness jacket for my cat. I let him play without any lease or harness on back garden, but if we need to play at front garden, or go to camping, some harnesses and leash set needed.  Harness jacket vest area finished with hook and loop tape which is adjustable to cat's vest size, so it will fit on him even though he put on weights. I thought to use hook and loop tape for neck of harness jacket but it might make neck strap too thick and uncomfortable for cat to move his head. So I ended up using slide plastic buckle. Because I made harness jacket with cute cat designed cotton fabric, my cat can wear as jacket as well without a leash. Preparation: Cotton fabric for inner, outer, and buckle straps, batting, 10mm buckle clip, 10m triglide adjustable buckle 1, D ring 1, snap hook 1, poly strap 2m Strap measurement for buckles - width 4 times of the buckle glide hole size, and length 4.25 inches for the short one and 7.75 inches for the long one. Strap material : as per...

DIY Reversible Tissue Box Cover

Image
I think tissue box covers give a bit of coziness and softness to house atmosphere. Making tissue box covers were in my sewing list for a long time. Finally I made one, and thought why didn't I make it earlier. I think that this cover will be in use until I make another one. If I have a few more covers I can change covers in every season like you change your doona covers.  Measurements: I thought I needed to measure only top, and one side for four, but there are 2 short width sides, and 2 wider sides. Needed to measure top, one short and wider sides, and add seam allowance 0.25inch (0.5cm), no need to measure bottom side. Because it's reversible, cut 2 different fabrics for top, 2 short sides, and 2 wider sides, and interfacing 1 each. Interfacing is not essential. For how to make, tutorial, please click the Video below, hope you enjoy. If the Video was helpful, please thumbs up and subscribe my Youtube channel:  Mikinoos DIY Thank you.

About a month earlier, you can find and buy Easter bunny & eggs chocolates from supermarket, and I thought I would make some gifts for my work colleague. I bought coffee beans from super market, and it's not the best quality of perfume, I thought I would make Easter bunny with coffee beans. Whole day sewing for making 15 of them. I kept 2 Easter bunnies and I share others with my friends and colleagues.  They can be best to use as home decoration like picture, or fridge deodorizers. You know coffee beans are good uses in many ways; keeps pets away, control odors, compost for garden soil, etc. Cut like picture above. DIY Dress Alteration from maxi to midi dress.

Image
Since Covid 19, I cancelled gym membership which I was a member in for about 10 years, and it's been about a year I have not done any regular workouts. I've been thinking to go back to gym, but been so lazy for exercise. With putting on weight with thicker waist, thicker legs, and so on, I feel a bit uncomfortable in the dress with elastic waist, and wanted to make even skirted dress. So altered to midi from maxi dress. Cut like picture above; cut elastic waist fabric of the dress and cut skirt right above gathered skirt. After cutting, gathered skirt needs another cut as uneven skirt length.  Below picture shows after cuts, and sew to connect top shirt to skirt, and bottom skirt is wider than main skirt, it needs to be gathered. For tutorial, please click the Video below, hope you enjoy. If the Video was helpful, please subscribe my Youtube channel:  Mikinoos DIY Thank you. Before a bit chill autumn coming, better try~ and went for a little walk to the park.
