DIY Dress Alteration from maxi to midi dress.

Image
Since Covid 19, I cancelled gym membership which I was a member in for about 10 years, and it's been about a year I have not done any regular workouts. I've been thinking to go back to gym, but been so lazy for exercise. With putting on weight with thicker waist, thicker legs, and so on, I feel a bit uncomfortable in the dress with elastic waist, and wanted to make even skirted dress. So altered to midi from maxi dress. Cut like picture above; cut elastic waist fabric of the dress and cut skirt right above gathered skirt. After cutting, gathered skirt needs another cut as uneven skirt length.  Below picture shows after cuts, and sew to connect top shirt to skirt, and bottom skirt is wider than main skirt, it needs to be gathered. Before a bit chill autumn coming, better try~ and went for a little walk to the park.

DIY fruit basket pincushion

Image
Last time I made fruit slices clay headed pins, and I put them on pincushions I made previously, and I thought it would be good if those pins on basket pincushions. Of course, I should try! Corduroy fabric is used for basket, the fabric has a bit of bums which is perfect for showing woody texture. And it's firm enough and no needed use of any battings or felts for its self stand. For tutorial, please click the Video below, hope you enjoy. If the Video was helpful, please subscribe my Youtube channel:  Mikinoos DIY Thank you. It's made for pincushion, but it can be used for doll plays.

About a six month ago I was so into cute, tiny and little buttons. While internet shopping for buttons, I found this little cute clay fruit slices, oh well, which were not buttons!! but I couldn't resist from buying them. They ended up in container with other buttons, because I did not have any ideas what I was going to make with them. Finally I made fruit head pins which is so easy diy's. They made up so cute pins! DIY Indoor Slippers; Linen Slippers Making Tutorial

Image
I have made fabric slippers. I have drawn my left foot after I put my foot on top of sketchbook. and 0.25 inches added around front of my foot sketch, and 0.5 inches added around the heel and then connect with straight line those two. And seam allowance is 0.25 inches for all around. Regarding batting material, I used thickest one among I have, and used two for sole, which is not that thick enough for slippers' sole I thought, but too thick for my home sewing machine. Oh someday, I hope I can buy industrial sewing machine~, anyway back to slippers' batting, and I had to finish with hand sewing for soles.  For tutorial, please click the Video below, hope you enjoy.
